Ich selbst wuerde ihn als composed oder aloof bezeichnen, meinetwegen auch stuck up - zwischen hochnaesig wirken und eingebildet sein liegen fuer mich jedenfalls Welten! Schon wahr, schuechtern ist er nicht, dafuer teilweise sehr zynisch, aber mit Sicherheit weder eingebildet noch jemand, der staendig Unsinn plappert, um auch ja im Mittelpunkt zu stehen (beides fuer mich "Qualifikationen" fuer die Bezeichnung cocky).
Nur weiss ich beim besten Willen nicht, wie man darauf kommt, betreffende Person als "cocky" zu bezeichnen, es sei denn, man hat schlechte Menschenkenntnis und/oder Vorurteile ODER eben, ich definiere das Wort falsch! Diese Person - maennlich, falls das von Interesse ist - stellte sich als etwa 100 mal introvertierter heraus als erwartet, und von gelegentlichen albernen Phasen, die wohl jeder mit Humor gelegentlich durchmacht, als "innerlich aelter" als der durchschnittliche Mann in dem Alter. Klischeetypen sind wohl die "jocks" in Filmen ueber High School-Aussenseiter (ausser, dass die meistens nicht nur cocky, sondern auch dumm sind). Ich erwartete also jemanden, der, wenn auch vielleicht an sich keine "schlechte" Person, Neigungen zur Selbstverliebtheit und zum Sich-Praesentieren ("in your face" heisst das, glaube ich, auf Englisch), vorlaut, manchmal ganz lustig, manchmal doch grenzwertig-arschig und oberflaechlich. Long story short, eine Person, die ich bis dato nicht ein Wort hatte sagen hoeren, wurde als "cocky" beschrieben.
